Meeto vs Google Calendar appointment schedules
Meeto vs Google Calendar appointment schedules: free booking pages compared
With a free Google account, appointment schedules give one booking page with Google Meet, and free one-on-one Meet calls can last 24 hours, but there are no automatic reminder emails. Meeto's free booking page sends guests a reminder and runs its own call, limited to 60 minutes. Choose Google for long free one-on-ones inside Google; choose Meeto for reminders, plus recording and AI summaries at $6.99 a month.

Should you choose Meeto or Google Calendar appointment schedules?
Choose Meeto if
- You use a free Google account and want guests reminded before every booked call.
- You want the booking, the call, its recording and an AI summary in one place for $6.99 a month.
- Your calendar is in Apple iCloud or another CalDAV service, or you want a booking page outside Google.
- You also want a call button on your website or instant rooms without an account.
Choose Google Calendar appointment schedules if
- Your one-on-one calls often run past 60 minutes and you do not want to pay: free Google Meet allows up to 24 hours on a computer.
- Your booked sessions have more than 25 people.
- You already pay for Google Workspace and want to take payment at booking.
- You want everything to stay inside Google Calendar.
Can you keep Google Calendar and book through Meeto?
Yes. Moving the booking page does not mean leaving Google Calendar: Meeto connects to it, hides the times you are busy and puts each new booking in your calendar.
- Connect Google Calendar through the Google Calendar integration. Free accounts connect 1 calendar; Pro connects up to 5.
- Copy your availability: working hours, buffers, minimum notice, a daily limit and days off.
- Turn on the reminder for the meeting type, so the host and the guest get an email an hour before.
- Replace the old link on your website and email signature with your Meeto booking page, then make a test booking from another address.
For repeating meetings with the same people, such as a weekly client check-in, you do not need a booking page at all: schedule a repeating meeting and invite the guests by email. They get the invitation, can say whether they will come, and get a reminder before each meeting.
What Meeto does not do
Meeto is built for small meetings that start from a link, a booking page or a website button. Paid plans hold up to 25 participants, and Meeto does not offer:
- End-to-end encryption
- Webinars or livestreaming
- Breakout rooms
- Polls
- Phone dial-in
- SSO / SAML single sign-on
- Live captions over the call video
If any of these is a requirement, test it in Google Calendar appointment schedules or another tool first. The full Meeto limits are on the pricing page and the security overview.

Frequently asked questions
Are Google Calendar appointment schedules free?
Yes, in a basic form: a personal Google Account can publish one booking page, with Google Meet as the video call. More booking pages, automatic reminder emails and checking several calendars need a Google One Premium, Google AI or eligible Workspace subscription.
Does Google send reminders for appointment schedules?
Only with a premium subscription, which can send up to 5 reminders before an appointment. With a free personal account there are no automatic reminder emails. Meeto sends guests a reminder an hour before each booking on every plan, the free one included.
Can I use Zoom or another video tool with appointment schedules?
Not automatically. Google's help says to choose «None / to be specified later», then edit each booked event and add the link to your conferencing service. Meeto creates its own meeting for every booking, so there is no link to add.
How long can a free booked call last?
On Google Meet without a subscription, a one-on-one call on a computer can last up to 24 hours, and a call with 3 or more people 60 minutes. On Meeto Free every call stops at 60 minutes once a second person joins; Meeto Pro, at $6.99 a month, has no time limit.
