Meeto vs Read AI
Meeto vs Read AI: AI meeting notes compared
Choose Read AI if your meetings stay on Zoom, Teams or Google Meet: its assistant joins them, free for 5 meetings a month of up to 1 hour, Pro $19.75 per user. Choose Meeto if you also want the meeting itself: its AI summary is built into Meeto's own calls, no bot joins, on Pro at $6.99 a month with 10 hours included.
Meeto vs Read AI: the facts side by side
| Question | Meeto | Read AI |
|---|---|---|
| Free plan | No AI summary or recording; free calls hold 10 people for 60 minutes | 5 meetings a month with summaries and transcripts, each up to 1 hour[1][2][3] |
| Cheapest paid plan | Pro: $6.99/month or $69/year, video meetings included, 10 hours of AI summary a month | Pro: $19.75 per user a month billed monthly, on top of your meeting tool[4][5][6] |
| Hosts its own video calls | Yes: browser calls and iOS and Android apps | No; its assistant joins meetings on other platforms[7] |
| How it captures a meeting | The host turns on AI summary inside the Meeto call; no extra participant joins, and everyone sees an indicator and a notice | Read Assistant joins Zoom, Teams or Meet meetings and needs host approval; a bot-free desktop app exists for Windows and macOS[8] |
| Meeting apps it works with | Meeto calls only; no bot for Zoom, Google Meet or Teams | Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet[9] |
| Transcription languages | Detected for each speaker, so mixed-language meetings work; the summary is written in the meeting's main language | 20+ languages[10] |
| AI summary | Summary, key points, decisions, action items and a transcript with speaker names; export as Markdown, plain text, PDF summary | Meeting reports with a summary, topics, action items and key questions[11] |
| Video recording | Pro and Team: MP4 plus separate audio, media kept 90 days; transcript and summary kept until you delete them | Video and audio playback only on Enterprise plans[12] |
| AI training on your meetings | Meeting content is not used to train AI models | Opt-in only: contributing to model improvement is off by default[13] |

Should you choose Meeto or Read AI?
Choose Meeto if
- You are choosing the meeting tool too, and want its notes without an assistant joining the call.
- Guests join from a browser link, without an account or an app.
- You want video recording on an ordinary paid plan: Meeto Pro records, Read AI keeps video for Enterprise.
- A small team wants meetings and notes from one bill: 5 Meeto Team seats cost $59.95 a month.
Choose Read AI if
- Your meetings happen on Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet.
- You want a few free AI notes each month: Read AI gives 5, Meeto none.
- Clients invite you to their own Zoom, Teams or Meet calls and you still want notes from them.
What does a team of 5 pay each month?
The prices buy different things, so compare what is included, not only the totals. Monthly billing, 5 people:
- Read AI Pro: 5 × $19.75 = $98.75 a month for the notes, plus whatever you pay for Zoom, Teams or Google Meet.
- Meeto Team: 5 × $11.99 = $59.95 a month for the video meetings and the notes, with 10 hours of AI summary per paid seat and up to 25 people per call.
The Meeto total only works if the team can move its meetings to Meeto. If clients send you Zoom or Teams invitations, or calls regularly have more than 25 people, the note-taker is the tool that fits; Meeto would be a second meeting platform. A single person can start with Meeto Pro at $6.99 a month, and see what the AI summary produces on a real call first.
What Meeto does not do
Meeto is built for small meetings that start from a link, a booking page or a website button. Paid plans hold up to 25 participants, and Meeto does not offer:
- End-to-end encryption
- Webinars or livestreaming
- Breakout rooms
- Polls
- Phone dial-in
- SSO / SAML single sign-on
- Live captions over the call video
If any of these is a requirement, test it in Read AI or another tool first. The full Meeto limits are on the pricing page and the security overview.
