AI meeting notes

How to take meeting notes with AI

Host the call on a Meeto Pro or Team account and select Start AI Summary. Everyone in the call is told it has started. During the meeting you can read a live transcript; afterwards you get a summary with key points, decisions and action items plus the full transcript with speaker names, ready to export as Markdown, text or PDF or to share by link.

How do I get AI notes from a meeting?

Start AI Summary once the conversation begins. Meeto writes the notes while you talk, so nobody in the call has to type.

  1. Host on a paid plan. The meeting's host needs a Pro or Team account, and only the host can start AI notes. Other participants can be guests without accounts.
  2. Start AI Summary. On a computer, find the small dock at the bottom right of the call and select the sparkles button, Start AI Summary. On a phone, open ⋯, choose AI Summary and select Start AI Summary in the panel.
  3. Choose who receives it. The window says Transcript + summary and asks Who gets the AI Summary afterwards? Pick Only me or Everyone in the call and select Start AI Summary.
  4. Read along. An AI Summary indicator appears for everyone. Open it to see the live transcript and a summary that Updates as the meeting goes.
  5. Stop or let it run. Select Stop AI Summary to finish early; otherwise the notes stop when the meeting ends. The message AI Summary saved · the link arrives by email confirms they are being prepared. The notes then arrive by email and appear under Recordings in your dashboard.

If you also need the video, select Record meeting instead. A recording starts AI Summary at the same time, as described in how to record a video meeting.

What do the AI notes contain?

Open Recordings in your dashboard, or the link in the email, to see the meeting page. It has two tabs, Summary and Transcript.

Parts of a Meeto AI Summary
PartWhat it holds
Short summaryA few sentences on what the meeting was about and how it ended.
Key pointsThe main topics and facts that came up.
DecisionsWhat the group agreed on.
Action itemsTasks that were assigned or promised, to copy into your task list.
TranscriptEverything that was said, with speaker names, searchable with Search the transcript…

Export

Download the notes as Markdown, plain Text or a PDF summary sheet, or copy the text into a document.

Share

Share link gives anyone with the link read access. Turn sharing off or set the link to expire in 7 or 30 days or on a date.

Keep or delete

The summary and transcript stay until you delete them. A video recording is kept 90 days unless you download it.

The PDF carries the line AI-generated summary — check key details before sharing. Read the action items before you send them on; names and numbers are the parts worth checking.

What are the limits of AI notes in Meeto?

  • Monthly allowance. 10 hours of AI summaries per account each month on Pro and Team. Afterwards the page says Basic notes: your monthly AI Summary quota is used up. The transcript is complete.
  • Meeto calls only. There is no bot for Zoom, Google Meet or Teams; the notes come from calls held in Meeto.
  • No live captions. The transcript appears in the AI Summary panel, not as subtitles over the video.
  • Silence gives nothing. If every microphone was muted, the page says there was no speech to summarize.

Frequently asked questions

Which plan do I need for AI meeting notes?

Pro or Team. The host's account includes 10 hours of AI summaries a month. After that, meetings still get a full transcript and basic notes until the allowance resets. A host on the Free plan who selects it is offered an upgrade to Pro.

Does AI Summary record video?

No. AI Summary listens to the audio only and captures no video. If you want a video file too, use Record meeting, which saves the video and audio and starts AI Summary at the same time.

Can I use Meeto's AI notes in Zoom, Google Meet or Teams?

No. AI Summary works only inside Meeto calls. Meeto does not send a bot into meetings on other platforms. Hold the meeting in Meeto, where guests can join by link without an account.

What if people speak different languages?

The language is detected for each speaker, so a meeting that mixes languages is transcribed in the languages people actually speak. The summary is written in the meeting's main language.

Is meeting content used to train AI models?

No. Meeto does not use meeting content to train AI models. You can delete a meeting's summary, transcript and recording files at any time with Delete meeting materials.
