Language teachers

Teach online language lessons with a multilingual transcript

Language teachers can run regular lessons in a browser room: schedule a weekly series with reminder emails, share a text and mark it up with the pen, and use chat for new words. On Pro, the AI summary transcribes each speaker in the language they speak and writes the summary in the language most of the lesson was held in.

How does a language lesson work in Meeto?

A new student books a trial on your page; a regular student gets a recurring series with the same link for every lesson. In the lesson you share material, mark it up and, on Pro, keep a transcript.

  1. Offer a trial lesson. Publish a short trial on your booking page. The student picks a time shown in their own time zone and joins from the confirmation without an account.
  2. Turn a regular student into a series. Schedule the lessons as a recurring meeting, for example every Tuesday and Thursday, and end it after the number of lessons in the package. The invitation states the rule in words.
  3. Choose the reminders. Pick up to two reminder emails per lesson: 1 day, 1 hour or 15 minutes before. A student who cannot come to one lesson can tell you, and you can move or cancel that single date.
  4. Work on a shared text. Share a reading, a grammar table or the student's own writing and correct it with the pen, arrows and text. The student can draw too, unless you turn drawing off.
  5. Write new words in chat. Chat is handy for spelling, but it is deleted when the lesson ends, so ask the student to copy words into their own notes or rely on the transcript.
  6. Start the AI summary for both of you. On Pro, choose “Everyone in the call” when you start it. The student can open the live transcript during the lesson and receives the summary afterwards.

What does the multilingual transcript actually do?

It writes down what each person said, in the language they said it, and summarizes the lesson in its main language. It does not translate.

Per-speaker language

The language is detected for each speaker, so a teacher speaking Spanish and a student answering in English are both transcribed as spoken, with their names.

Summary in the main language

The summary, key points and action items are written in the language most of the lesson was held in. The other languages used are taken into account, but you cannot pick a different one.

Live, then exported

During the lesson the transcript appears on the meeting page; there are no captions over the video. Afterwards, export Markdown, plain text or a PDF summary sheet.

Treat the transcript as lesson notes, not as an assessment. A beginner's pronunciation, a strong accent or rapid switching between languages can be transcribed imperfectly, so do not use it to grade speaking. The AI summary page covers what the recap contains and how to review it.

Which plan fits your lessons?

Free covers lessons under an hour. Pro removes the time limit and adds the transcript and summary.

Plan limits for language lessons
PlanWhat to plan for
FreeA lesson stops after 60 minutes once 2 people are in it, with warnings at 5 and 1 minutes; up to 10 participants; 1 booking meeting type; no recording or AI summary
Pro$6.99/month or $69/year; no time limit for up to 2 simultaneous meetings; up to 25 participants; 50 meeting types
AI summaryPro and Team: 10 hours a month, then a full transcript and a basic summary until the allowance resets
Recurring lessons and remindersEvery plan, including Free

On Free, plan a 60-minute lesson as 50 or 55 minutes so the last word is not cut off. The pricing page has the current numbers.

Who this is not for

Meeto is a lesson room and a scheduler, not a school platform. Look elsewhere if you need:

  • live translation, interpreting or captions over the video;
  • breakout rooms for pair work inside a group class;
  • homework, grading, course materials or payment at booking. Meeto does not take payment at booking;
  • reminder and invitation emails in the student's own language. They are in English;
  • classes with more than 25 participants.

For the general lesson routine, see online tutoring, and send students the browser joining guide before the first lesson.

Frequently asked questions

Can students use Meeto in their own language?

Yes. The Meeto interface is available in 42 languages, so a student can join a lesson with buttons and prompts in a language they read well. Invitation and reminder emails are sent in English.

Can a student keep the transcript after the lesson?

Yes, if you start the AI summary for everyone in the call: each participant is offered their own copy afterwards. You can also export the summary as Markdown, plain text or a PDF sheet, or send a share link that you can switch off later.

Can I teach a group class?

Yes. Free allows up to 10 participants and Pro up to 25. Meeto has no breakout rooms, so pair practice in a group means taking turns in the main room or running separate meetings.

Is a recording of the lesson kept?

Only if a Pro or Team host records it. The video and audio files are kept for 90 days; the transcript and summary stay until you delete them. Ask the student before you record, and tell parents when the student is a minor.
