Zoom alternatives

Zoom alternatives without the 40-minute limit

Zoom's free plan ends every meeting at 40 minutes, one-on-one included. Google Meet, Microsoft Teams free and Zoho Meeting allow 60-minute group meetings, Jitsi Meet 95, Whereby 30, and Webex the same 40 as Zoom. Meeto allows 60 minutes for up to 10 people. Below: each option's limits, price and catch, every figure linked to its source.

What Zoom's free plan allows

Zoom's free Basic plan holds up to 100 participants[1] and limits meetings to 40 minutes[2], including a host with a single guest[3]. Zoom Pro removes that limit for $16.99 per user a month billed monthly[4].

If 40 minutes is enough for most of your calls, Zoom may still be the simplest choice. If your calls are longer, or you only host a few long calls a month, one of the products below may fit better. The details of the limit, and the legitimate ways around it, are in our guide to the Zoom 40-minute limit.

How we chose these alternatives

Each product had to be available today and to publish its limits on its own pages. We compared them on the same points:

What we checked for every product

Free participantsHow many people the free plan lets into one meeting.
Guests without an accountWhether invited people can join without signing up.
Browser joinWhether a guest can join from a browser without installing an app.

This page is published by Meeto, one of the products on it. Meeto's limits are printed as plainly as the others', including what it does not do. No vendor paid to be listed, and there are no affiliate links.

Products appear in alphabetical order; this is not a ranking. Every figure about another product links to the vendor's own page, quoted as read on November 3, 2026.

What to test before you switch from Zoom

  1. Your longest call. Check how long your typical meeting runs and how many people join, then compare it with each free plan above; most stop at an hour for groups.
  2. The guest path. Open a test link in a private browser window on a phone with no account signed in. That is what your clients will see. With Meeto, a guest goes from the link to the call in the browser.
  3. Recording and notes. Free plans rarely include cloud recording. If you need it, price the paid plan you would actually use, not the free one.
  4. Scheduling. If clients book time with you, check whether the tool has its own booking page or needs a separate one. Meeto's free plan includes a booking page with one meeting type, and each booking gets its own meeting link.

Frequently asked questions

Which free Zoom alternative has the longest meetings?

Among the products above, Jitsi Meet allows 95 minutes per meeting on meet.jit.si, and Google Meet allows one-on-one calls of up to 24 hours. For groups, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams free, Zoho Meeting and Meeto all stop at 60 minutes. Brave Talk, covered in our free video conferencing list, has no time limit for up to 4 people.

Which Zoom alternatives let guests join without an account?

All seven. Google Meet needs someone in the meeting to admit a guest without a Google Account, and Jitsi Meet asks only the person who creates the room to sign in. Meeto never asks a guest to sign in or install anything.

What is the cheapest way to get meetings longer than 40 minutes?

Of the paid plans listed, Zoho Meeting Standard starts at $2 per host a month for 10 participants, Teams Essentials costs $4 per user a month paid yearly, and Meeto Pro costs $6.99 a month. Zoom Pro costs $16.99 per user a month billed monthly.

Do I have to leave Zoom completely?

No. Many people keep a Zoom account for meetings others host and use a second tool only for the calls they host themselves, such as long client calls. Guests of a browser tool need no account, so the change costs them nothing.
