Free video conferencing

Free video conferencing compared by time limit and participants

Free plans differ most in meeting length. Brave Talk has no time limit for 4 people; Jitsi Meet allows 95 minutes; Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Zoho Meeting and Meeto allow 60-minute group calls; Zoom stops at 40, Whereby at 30. For participants, Zoom, Meet, Teams and Zoho allow 100; Meeto 10. Each limit links to the vendor's page.

Two more free plans we checked

Webex Free allows meetings of up to 40 minutes[1] with up to 100 attendees[2], the same as Zoom. GoTo Meeting Free allows 40 minutes[3] with up to 3 participants[4]. Neither beats the plans below on length, so they are left out of the cards.

Looking for something specific? There are separate lists of Zoom alternatives, Google Meet alternatives and Skype alternatives.

How we chose these alternatives

Each product had to be available today and to publish its limits on its own pages. We compared them on the same points:

What we checked for every product
CriterionWhat we looked at
Free time limitHow long a free meeting runs, for groups and one-on-one calls, in the vendor's own words.
Free participantsHow many people one free meeting holds.
AccountsWho needs an account: the host, the guests, or nobody.
RecordingWhat the free plan records, if anything.
Upgrade priceWhat the cheapest paid plan costs in USD when the free plan runs out.

This page is published by Meeto, one of the products on it. Meeto's limits are printed as plainly as the others', including what it does not do. No vendor paid to be listed, and there are no affiliate links.

Products appear in alphabetical order; this is not a ranking. Every figure about another product links to the vendor's own page, quoted as read on November 3, 2026.

Frequently asked questions

Which free video conferencing app has no time limit?

Of the hosted services here, Brave Talk says there is no limit on the number or length of free calls, for up to 4 people. Google Meet allows one-on-one calls of up to 24 hours on a computer. Every other free plan here ends meetings after 30 to 95 minutes; self-hosted Jitsi Meet has the limits of your own server.

Which free plan allows the most participants?

Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Zoho Meeting each allow up to 100 people on their free plans. Meeto allows 10; Brave Talk and Whereby 4.

Can I record a meeting on a free plan?

Partly. Zoom's free plan records to your computer, Webex Free records locally, and meet.jit.si can upload a recording to your Dropbox when that is enabled. Google Meet, Teams free, Zoho Meeting Free, Brave Talk and Meeto Free do not record; on Meeto, recording and AI summaries start on the Pro plan.

Which free video call needs no account at all?

On Meeto, anyone can start an instant meeting without an account, and guests never need one. Brave Talk invitees join from any browser with the link. Google Meet and Zoho Meeting need the host to have an account, and Jitsi Meet asks the room's creator to sign in.
