Start Meeto video calls from Slack
Install Meeto in a Slack workspace, connect your Meeto account and use /meeto to turn a channel or direct message into a browser meeting. Colleagues can join from the call card or link, while guests can open the meeting outside Slack.

Slack remains the launch point; audio and video run in Meeto's browser meeting. The room link can be opened on a desktop or mobile browser, subject to the device's camera and microphone permissions.
Connect Slack in three steps
- Install the workspace app. Open Meeto integrations, choose Add to Slack and approve the requested Slack consent screen. A workspace may require an administrator to approve new apps.
- Link the person who starts calls. In Slack, run
/meeto linkand open Connect Meeto account. Finish sign-in and confirmation in the browser. The link is single purpose and returns you to the Meeto integration flow. - Start and test. Run
/meetoin a test channel, click Join on the resulting card or link, then invite a guest who is not in Slack to verify the browser path.
Installing the app and linking a person are separate steps. A workspace can be installed while an individual still needs to connect their own Meeto account.

The workspace bot token is stored encrypted by Meeto. The integration uses the Slack identity and workspace needed to start and reconcile a call; review the privacy overview before connecting a work workspace.
When a Slack call does not start
“Meeto is not installed”
Open the install flow again from Integrations. This message means the current Slack workspace has no active Meeto installation, or its installation was revoked.
“Connect your Meeto account”
Run /meeto link, finish the browser confirmation and repeat the call command. The workspace install alone does not choose a Meeto room owner.
No headphones-menu option
Ask a workspace administrator to enable Meeto in Slack's Third-party call providers. Use /meeto while that setting is being reviewed.
The card is missing
The room may still be ready. Meeto returns a plain join URL when Slack rejects the native call card; check the ephemeral response and open that URL. If repeated calls are rate-limited, wait briefly before trying again.
Frequently asked questions
What does the Meeto Slack integration do?
After the app is installed and your Slack identity is connected to a Meeto account, /meeto creates a Meeto room from a channel or direct message. Meeto posts a joinable call card when Slack accepts the native call request, and can fall back to an ordinary join link if Slack rejects that card.
Do guests need a Slack account?
No. The join URL opens the Meeto browser lobby, so someone invited from Slack can use the link without being a member of the Slack workspace. The host still needs a linked Meeto account to start the call from Slack.
Why does /meeto ask me to connect Meeto?
The Slack workspace installation identifies the workspace, while the account link identifies which Meeto user owns the room. Run /meeto link or use the Connect Meeto account button, finish sign-in in the browser, then run /meeto again.
Can I start a call from the Slack headphones menu?
A workspace administrator can enable Meeto under Slack's Third-party call providers after the app is installed. The slash command remains the direct path and works in channels, private channels and direct messages where the app is allowed.
